Samstag, 19. Dezember 2009Mozilla Lightning 1.0b1 for Thunderbird 3 on linux amd64UPDATE: Mozilla provides now also an amd64 build.
I am using gentoo linux on an amd64 machine and I upgraded to Thunderbird 3. The official Lightning Release 0.9 is only running on Thunderbird 2.* Thunderbird 3 needs Lightning 1.0b1, on official Mozilla Sites I couldn't find any build of lightning 1.0b1 for Linux on amd64. I build Lightning on my own, guided by the instructions on the Mozilla Dev Site.
Lightning is running fine on my Machine. No warranty on using this Lighting Build! -
If you want build your own Lightning:In Addition to the Instructions on the Mozilla Dev Site I had to apply a patch from bugzilla.mozilla.com:
and I used the following .mozconfig:
ac_add_options --enable-application=calendar

Danke!
It works perfectly on my Arch Linux 64 and Thurderbird 3.0. Good work!
Thanks. Works great. Strange that in these times of dual/quad-cores processors the x64-builds are still the last to get supported.
My comm-1.9.1 directory has no ".hg" so the patch command does not work. Would manually creating a .hg directory be sufficient?
Hey there.
Did you call $ python client.py checkout This should imho create the .hg directory

Lightning 1.0b2pre could not be installed because it is not compatible with Shredder 3.0.2pre.
i use sidux with the nightly mozilla ppa for ubuntu.. i'm very interesstet to try lightning..thx for your compiles
I found an alternative build on the net. According to the description there should be a previous install of the Nightly Tester Tools.

Have you considered adding it to mozilla's addons site?
